Ambassador and Secretary General of the Summit

H.E. Stephanie Rivoal is the Secretary-General of the upcoming 2020 Africa-France Summit. The chose theme for this Edition which will take place in France is Sustainable Cities.

From 2016 until 2019, she was the Ambassador of France to Uganda.

After obtaining her diploma in ESSEC business school, she worked for ten years in the investment banking sector in the 90s, notably in major banks such as Goldman Sachs, Lazard and JPMorgan Chase.

She then spent eleven years working for Action Against Hunger in the humanitarian field. In 2013, she became President of the organization. She lived in or visited numerous missions, including Sudan, Lebanon, Liberia, Burkina Faso, Haiti or Burma.

She is passionate about photography and has been a photographer since 2003. She is the author of several books.

She was made Knight of the Legion of Honor in 2014.

Pierre De Gaétan Njikam was born in Cameroon and is now an elected official in Bordeaux. After joining the cabinet of Alain Juppé, then Mayor of Bordeaux, Njikam was elected to the municipal staff in 2014 and now works alongside the Juppé’s successor, Nicolas Florian.

It was in this role that he created the National Day of African Diasporas (JNDA), which brings together economic, academic, institutional, cultural and non-profit bodies from Africa and the diaspora in France in Bordeaux every year. Njikam also set up the Bordeaux-Africa entrepreneur-in-residence programme, which invites young entrepreneurs from various African countries to attend training sessions and form partnerships with other entrepreneurs in the Bordeaux region on an annual basis.

In his role as CEO of the Pierre Castel endowment fund, “Agir avec l’Afrique” (Act with Africa), Njikam capitalises on his expertise in supporting young entrepreneurs involved in the continent’s agriculture and agri-food industries.

He is also an administrator at the university of Sciences Po Bordeaux and at the University of Bordeaux Institute of Vine and Wine Science (ISVV).

Njikam holds an executive MBA from the HEC Paris business school, as well as a degree from the University of Yaoundé in Cameroon, an advanced diploma in public law from the University of Bordeaux and a diploma from the International Academy of Constitutional Law (IACL) in Tunis, and studied at the International Institute of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
