Stéphanie Rivoal
Ambassador and Secretary General of the Summit

H.E. Stephanie Rivoal is the Secretary-General of the upcoming 2020 Africa-France Summit. The chosen theme for this year’s event, hosted in France, is sustainable cities.

Between 2016 and 2019, Ms. Rivoal was the French Ambassador to Uganda.

After graduating from ESSEC business school, she worked in the investment banking sector for ten years in the 1990s, notably for major banks such as Goldman Sachs, Lazard and JPMorgan Chase.

She then spent eleven years working for Action Against Hunger in the humanitarian field. In 2013, she became President of the organization. She lived in and visited numerous programs, including Sudan, Lebanon, Liberia, Burkina Faso, Haiti and Burma.

Stéphanie Rivoal is passionate about photography and has been a photographer since 2003: she is also the author of several books.

She was made Knight of the Legion of Honor in 2014.

Bordeaux and Greater Bordeaux

Pierre de Gaëtan Njikam Mouliom
Third Deputy Mayor of Bordeaux, in charge of the Bordeaux Maritime area and representative for partnerships between Africa and French-speaking countries.
Metropolitan Councillor, Co-Chair of the National Steering Committee for the 2020 Africa-France Summit

Pierre De Gaétan Njikam, an elected official of Bordeaux, was born in Cameroon. After working with former Mayor of Bordeaux Alain Juppé, Njikam was elected to the Bordeaux municipal staff in 2014 and now works alongside Juppé’s successor, Nicolas Florian.

It was in this role that he created the National Day of African Diasporas (JNDA), which brings together economic, academic, institutional, cultural and non-profit bodies from Africa and the diaspora in France in Bordeaux every year. Njikam also set up the Bordeaux-Africa entrepreneur-in-residence programme, which invites young entrepreneurs from various African countries to attend training sessions and form partnerships with other entrepreneurs in the Bordeaux region on an annual basis.

In his role as CEO of the Pierre Castel endowment fund, “Agir avec l’Afrique” (Act with Africa), Njikam capitalizes on his expertise in supporting young entrepreneurs involved in the continent’s agriculture and agri-food industries.

He is also a board member of Sciences Po Bordeaux and the University of Bordeaux Institute of Vine and Wine Science (ISVV).

Njikam holds an executive MBA from HEC Paris business school, as well as a degree from the University of Yaoundé in Cameroon, a post-graduate diploma in public law from the University of Bordeaux and a diploma from the International Academy of Constitutional Law (IACL) in Tunis, and studied at the International Institute of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
