Citizens

In the future, cities will become “city-states” because of the size of their populations, “global cities” because of the diversity of populations, and “gateway cities” because of the extensive flows of people, ideas, goods, wealth, and cultures that pass through them. This will require all stakeholders to build new forms of cooperation.

In terms of citizen innovations, the summit must strengthen the existing links with the general public. Although the general guidelines must be laid down by governments, their implementation on a daily basis often comes down to individual initiatives and innovations.

The inclusive summit calls for concrete and shared responses through the participation of new players, eager to create value on the African continent and to support the structural transformations at work with a view to joint and sustainable development.

If you would like to propose concrete solutions, tell us about your engagements, initiatives, or projects in favor of sustainable cities and regions, come to the Summit on 4, 5 and 6 June 2020 in Bordeaux. Click on the button below to register (registration required).
